A new beta version 3.5.13 is now available for downloading and testing.
You are welcome to download it at: http://www.viart.com/downloads/viart_shop-3.5.13.zip
 
Please note that this version is only for testing purposes and we strongly recommend you to avoid putting it on your live sites. The final release with all bug fixes and appropriate testing is planned for September.
 
Among new features included in this beta version are:
 
1) Multi-taxes possibility to add more than one tax for several regions;
2) Introduce a friend option;
3) A new option to set different layout for a products category;
4) Advanced BOM customization with possibility to select preferred columns in the PDF document;
5) Recover Abandoned Carts Functionality;
6) Coupons system improving.

Great about the layouts per category, but how about style sheet changes per category and per product if we would like. I think that's a huge issue! I'd love to be able to maybe select a style sheet per product and/or category!

Has anyone tested this release yet?

I have tested the coupon improvements and they have extended capabilities to apply a product specific coupon to a subcomponent which is part of a bundle it all seems to work great apart from one very slight bug in that the itemised list of coupon discounts received on the final page in checkout displays repeated product name for the same item rather than a different name for each product which has had the coupon applied. This has been reported to Viart
 
Not sure how the tell a friend function works. I see this can linked to the coupons so that if a friend orders goods the person who referred them can use a coupon which has been set up. What I can't fathom out is how does the referall take palce and how is this logged after wards ????

certain things seem touchy and confusing. Not too many noticeable things though:
 
ability to set admin/users to MD5 encryption seperately
ability to set start dates and some new advanced features for coupons.
ability to recover carts, but not sure useful for me really, as it saves the order as new until user confirms and sets to 'user confirmed'
new feature: product registration, but not exactly sure of what that is yet.

So what IS the current release??? When you download a version, it only states 3.5 in the downloaded files, and the files in the /doc directory are never updated.

Looks like the latest available release is 3.5.13 but it's available only by direct link published at the top

I tell you what... I really expect some serious changes/improvements between the existing version and the new one. I expect a lot of custom work from all of us and some better product management from ViArt.

It has been two months since the announcement - is there a date for delivery of the final version?

I've get, that our custom coding will be released in the final 3.5.13 in the last weekend. 3 days ago... :(

Ohh... This custom coding will be, that in the product import /update You can select for assotiation by Cdoe or Manufactuere code.
 
This will be useable If You have an ERP or other commerce system, that not does not contain the product id, so You cant export it from there.
 
It could be used too if You get a new pricelist, that provides the code or manufacturer code. Simply del some columns, and import will be easy by this way...

when is this coming out as a final release?

Its frustrating waiting but haven't we all critisised Viart for rolling out release after release without proper stability in the past.
